Stars play poker at casino opening - 13th October 2008
Celebrities flocked to Connecticut to celebrate the opening of the new Casino of the Wind at Mohegan Sun last weekend.
The new facility has added 64,000 sq ft of space to the famous Mohegan Sun complex, with the room mainly filled by a high-end casino featuring 28 table games and 650 slots.
It also contains a 42-table live action poker room, which attracted performers such as Curb Your Enthusiasm's Cheryl Hines and Ugly Betty's Becki Newton during the opening weekend.
Other stars of stage and screen chose to head to the complex's nightclubs and bars, with some even indulging in the new $6,000 Windfall cocktail, which comes complete with a diamond and pink sapphire ring.
Bruce Bozsum, chairman of the Mohegan Tribe, said he was proud of the way the casino had marked the opening.
"Adding the new Casino of the Wind with Poker to our premiere gaming, spa and golf facilities continues to make Mohegan Sun one of the premiere gaming destinations in the country," he added.
